The Gospel of John reminds us of Jesus being the vine and God the Father as the gardener or vinegrower. This is relevant because we act as the branches of the Christian faith that hold the mission of the kingdom together. If there are branches that won't bear good fruit despite being taken care of by the gardener, these branches will be cut down and removed so they won't take the healthy ones with them. We should work hard in our faith to be more fruitful in sharing the gospel and spreading the love of God.
