The Gospel of Mark teaches us to uncling ourselves from our material possessions and focus on gaining treasures of heaven. These eternal treasures are blessings of God in the form of non-material things: a changed heart, a deeper relationship with Jesus, and a saved soul. We must know how to earn these gifts, especially the gift of salvation, and guard it with our trust and willingness to surrender to His will and His teachings.
