The Gospel of Matthew reminds us to always remember that our faith is a faith of joy and that the encounter with Christ in our lives should bring joy to us. This Gospel also wants to remind us that when we follow Christ, there will always be a certain sense of trial and sacrifice as part of our faith as Christians. There might be times when we need to sacrifice as we dedicate ourselves to following Christ, but there will always be great joy.
