The Gospel of Luke reminds us that the fruits of prayer must lead to action. Prayer must come through listening to lead us to obedience, and ideally, it must show in our actions in life. Prayer is very relational and can change us as we develop our relationship with God through it. The obedience we get from prayer must be loving, and it must reflect love so we can receive the fruits of our prayers.
