Our source of persistence and perseverance in prayer comes from the things we believe in and from those that are important to us. We must also remember that prayer is an act of faith, trust, and expressing important things for us. Trust also plays a big part in our prayer life because, through prayer, we believe that God is listening to us and that He will give what's best for us.
