The Gospel of Luke focuses on the theme of readiness and storing up treasures in heaven. We should always be ready to go and live our vocation, and we should always look for what is essential as we store treasures in heaven. We must do what is good in the eyes of the Lord, as we are citizens of heaven. We are also reminded by St. Ignacius to be inordinately detached, especially from the material resources of this world. These material things are given to us as blessings in order for us to properly use them for our well-being and salvation.
