The Gospel of Luke asks us what we consider the essential things in life. What is the total giving of self in life? We are also encouraged to do ordinary things in life with total devotion and great love. This Gospel also urges us to think about the people in our lives who were and still are willing to do the little things in life for us. These people and their love for us helped shape our current versions of ourselves, and they deserve our recognition and love, because they are also the essential people in our lives.
