The Gospel of John talks about John being the first one to witness the resurrection. Despite this, it was notable that even if he was the first one to arrive there, he didn't enter immediately. He always defers to Peter because he recognizes the will of the Lord, and this shows his obedience to Him. Lastly, it's important to take note that he has such strong faith that he believed what he saw immediately and asked no questions.
