The Gospel of Luke shows another story of a servant of God who was patiently waiting for the coming of Jesus Christ. The prophetess Anna is a very old woman who continuously fasts in prayer, night and day. Her dedication to serving the Lord despite her old age was granted with the privilege of having seen the One who came to redeem and re-establish Israel. This shows that the season of waiting in the Lord always provides us with a fruitful and satisfying end.
