To all "gays:" The Church does not condemn you as you are. God loves you just like anybody else. In truth, the Church prays for you people who were born and grew as such. What the Church maintains is the same old refrain, "Hate the sin, not the sinner!" Even for straight guys and gals, it is a sin to commit fornication, adultery and other sin of the flesh. Being individuals with attraction or preference to fellows with the same sex, you are not exempted from being guilty in committing sins when you engaged in illicit sexual relationships. We are all taught and advised by our Church teachings to abstain from any sexual activities before marriage, that is, between a man and a woman. Only through marriage can a couple legitimize sexual intercourse as an expression of love and for the purpose of building up a family. However, our concupiscent nature and imperfections bring us to commit that common sin (of the flesh). Only through prayers, corporal and spiritual works of mercy can we derive enough grace to ward off temptations. Single blessedness and/or a chaste life is one vocation or option available to all, if we desire to be perfect and to be in "union with God" in this challenging world.
