We are gifted the freedom of salvation through grace, and salvation entails a change of heart because, as a new creation in Christ, our former way of life, which is filled with corruption and deceit, has been transformed into a life of righteousness with the assurance of eternity with God. We, Christians, are to examine ourselves and to walk in step with the Lord.
Ephesians 4:22 - 24 (NIV)
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
