Refugees claim the Statue of Theotokos protected them from shelling

Refugees at Svyatogorsk Monastery claim the Statue of the Most Holy Theotokos (Mother of God) Mary, has protected them from shelling. None of the hundreds of refugees were killed or were severely wounded, when the shelling occurred, while the Statue of the Theotokos has lost it's hands. The shelling hit the western gate of the monastery and dormitory building that housed the refugees.
