RESILIENCE – Daily Devotional

Devotional Message:
(Psalms 94:19)
When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from painful emotions. Every one of us has struggles in life. Where can we go to get the resilience we need? The Psalmist wrote that when doubts filled his mind, God gave him comfort and renewed his hope and cheer. Centuries later Paul wrote in the New Testament, “The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.” Jesus Himself said that He would not leave us comfortless but would send us the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit whose name is the “comforter” wants to help you with every emotional struggle you face. Today come to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to comfort you. His comfort will renew your hope and cheer.

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, come and comfort me today. I don’t even know what to pray so please pray for me with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. Amen.
