Mansuetus was bishop of the city of Milan from 676 to 685. He preached against the Eastern heresy of Monotheletism, which held that Christ has two natures, human and divine, but a single divine will. Fierce supporter of Dyothelitism, which on the contrary supposed the presence in Christ of both divine and human will, he wrote homilies and treatises and took part in the Lateran Council. He is depicted in art in episcopal vestments.
