“Sola Scriptura” (Selected Verses) Pastor TJ Caparros October 8, 2023 Sunday Service

October is reformation month. Our church in Living Word IT Park is currently going through a series on the Five Solas as a way for us to celebrate what God did and accomplish during the Protestant Reformation. In line with this, discussing the rallying cry of the Protestant Reformation would be beneficial.

And as we go through this fundamental doctrine in the Reformation, it would give you a greater appreciation of the Christian heritage. It would also strengthen your beliefs as a Protestant Christian.

The word sola is a Latin word for alone. It is used to emphasize the foundational doctrines of the Reformation.

The Five Solas are five Latin phrases that emphasize the distinctions between the early reformers and the Roman Catholic Church.

The topic for today is Sola Scriptura. Sola Scriptura or Scripture alone maintains that the Bible is the highest source of authority in a Christian life.
