SAINT GIUSTINIANO OF VERCELLI
BISHOP
March 21
Perhaps a disciple of martin of Tours, Giustiniano was bishop of Vercelli, Italy, from 435 to 452. He probably died before the ferocious Huns of Attila fell on Milan and Pavia, spreading death and destruction in the outlying cities as well. According to ancient documents, Giustiniano was the fourth bishop of the city after Eusebius. He directed the diocese with zeal, was love liked a father, and was a guide for the clergy and the monks. He seems to have died of natural causes.
NAME: Giustiniano is from the Latin and means “honest, just.”
Saint Giustiniano of Vercelli.
