In this passage, we shall see the CENTRAL MISSION of the CHURCH. John MacArthur calls it the SUPREME MISSION of the CHURCH. Jesus' supreme mission here on earth is "to seek and to save that which is lost.” [Luke 19:10]. That too is our mission, because as Jesus says in Jno. 17:18, "As Thou didst send Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world."
