THE ONLY TWO DESTINATIONS WHEN A PERSON DIES
When a person dies, he goes to one of two places: heaven or hell. There are no other options. Those who go to heaven are “in Christ,” which means more than just believing in Him. It means surrendering his life to Him and allowing Him to be the Lord of his life. This includes admitting to being a sinner and turning away from sin. When someone accepts the Lord, he becomes a new creation and chooses to live like Him.
For believers, the term used after death is “sleeping,” not “dead,” as shown in John 11 with Lazarus. When Lazarus was said to be dead, the Lord clarified that he was just sleeping. The term “dead” applies to those who are not in Christ and go to hell. When anyone dies, if he is in the Lord, he goes straight to heaven; if he is not in Jesus, he goes directly to hell. This transition happens quickly, and it’s important to remember this truth.
