This Christian devotional takes us to the encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman in John 4. Jews and Samaritans were divided by generations of religious conflict, prejudice, and social barriers. Yet Jesus deliberately sat beside a Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well and asked her for a drink. His simple request crossed boundaries that society had carefully built—and His conversation ultimately offered her something far greater: living water.
The story reveals the heart of Jesus toward people who are often overlooked, rejected, judged, or pushed to the margins. Jesus did not allow ethnicity, gender, social status, reputation, or cultural prejudice to determine a person’s value. He treated the Samaritan woman with dignity and offered her the same grace and salvation He offers everyone.
This daily Christian motivation also reminds us that prejudice can appear even within God's people.
