You Reap What You Sow - June 8, 2023 DD

1 Kings 18:33-35 - "And he put the wood in order and cut the bull in pieces and laid it on the wood. And he said, "Fill four jars with water and pour it on the burnt offering and on the wood." 34 And he said, "Do it a second time." And they did it a second time. And he said, "Do it a third time." And they did it a third time. 35 And the water ran around the altar and filled the trench also with water."

On today's Daily Devotions, Pastor Sumrall takes us to Mount Carmel, the site of a mighty miracle described in 1 Kings 18. During a severe drought and famine, when water was incredibly scarce. In a bold act of faith, Elijah asked for the most precious resource during a time of famine, exorbitant amounts of water poured on the altar dedicated to God. God responded with fire consuming the offering, even licking up the water in the trenches. This act of extravagant giving brought about a breakthrough, and people reaped an abundance of rain. We are encouraged to sow what we need a harvest of in our lives, whether it be knowledge, time, ability, or finances. Remember, you reap what you sow with overflowing blessings.
