Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10)
When we think of being still, we think of forcing ourselves to not move or be quiet. The verse's meaning goes deeper than that, though. The definition of the word "still" in Hebrew is closer to causing ourselves to "let go" or to "release."
During this time of forced rest, we strive to move forward yet all we can think about is trying to survive. We want to do something. Anything. This is the perfect time to let go of the our crippling financial anxieties and constant fear for our loved ones. This is the time to take our never ending worries and sorrows and release them to the One who cares about us. This is the time to truly trust in God and be still.
