Today's Devotion:

365 Daily Devotions: Seminary Edition

💁🏻 Concept: Demonic Influence
The term demonized (δαιμονίζομαι) refers to being under demonic influence. In Scripture, this term is often associated with more extreme cases of demonic control, affecting a person’s mind, body, and spirit. However, the Bible makes it clear that Christ has ultimate power over the demonic realm. While believers cannot be possessed, they can experience spiritual attacks. This is why we must remain vigilant and rely on God’s power.

Some of the demonic influences:
1. Distortion of the truth
2. Spiritual bondage to sin
3. Hatred of Christians and the church
4. Apathy and hardness of heart
5. Fleshly thinking and worldliness
6. Addiction to drugs, sex, pornography, orgy, fornication, etc.
7. Obsession to occultism and false religions
8. Witchcraft, divination, spiritism, New Age, astrology, horoscopes, tarot cards, faith healing, necromancy, and other similar practices

📖 Bible Readings: Mark 5:1-20
(Matthew 12:43-45; Luke 10:17-20; 1 Peter 5:8-9; Ephesians 6:10-18; James 4:7; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5; Acts 26:17-18; Colossians 2:15; 1 Corinthians 6:18, 10:13; 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, 11:14; 2 Timothy 2:22; 1 John 4:4; Revelation 12:9-12, 16:14)

👨🏻‍💻 Teachings:
1. Demons demise good relationships
whereas Jesus reconciles them.
2. Demons distort the mind
whereas Jesus renews it.
3. Demons destroy the image of God
whereas Jesus restores it.

💪🏼 Applications:
1. List what Satan/sin has destroyed in your life.
2. Start praying for healing and reconciliation.
3. Practice living out the restored image of God.

🎙Discussion:
In what areas in your life do you need healing?

🙏🏼 Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the victory we have in Christ. I acknowledge that the enemy seeks to deceive, destroy, and distract, but I stand firm in Your truth. Fill me with Your Spirit, that I may resist every scheme of the devil. Guard my mind, strengthen my faith, and keep my heart fixed on You. Help me walk in the freedom and authority You have given through Jesus Christ. Please heal all my relationships. Let forgiveness, healing, and love reign over me. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
