Devotional Message:
(John 15:4)
"Remain in me, as I also remain in you."

Observation

Have you ever noticed how a branch attached to a tree stays healthy, full of life, and produces fruit? But when that same branch is broken off, it withers, dries up, and eventually becomes useless. Jesus used this powerful illustration to explain our relationship with Him.

He said, “Remain in me, as I also remain in you.” This means we are designed to stay connected to Him, just like a branch is designed to stay connected to the vine. The branch doesn’t have life on its own. It depends completely on the vine for everything—water, nutrients, and strength. In the same way, we depend on Jesus for spiritual life, strength, and fruitfulness.

Jesus makes it very clear: “No branch can bear fruit by itself.” If we try to live without Him, we become spiritually weak and dry. We may try to handle life in our own strength, relying on our own wisdom, our own plans, or our own efforts. But without Jesus, we will eventually feel exhausted, discouraged, and empty.

On the other hand, when we remain in Him—when we make our home in Jesus—our lives will bear fruit. That means our lives will show evidence of His presence: love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, and all the qualities that reflect Him. But this only happens when we stay connected to Him.

Application: How Do We Stay at Home in Jesus?

1. Stay in His Word Daily
Just as a tree absorbs water and nutrients daily, we need to absorb God’s Word. The Bible is our spiritual food—it nourishes and strengthens us. Reading just a few verses each day, meditating on them, and applying them to our lives will help us stay connected to Jesus. When we read His Word, we hear His voice guiding us and shaping us.

2. Pray and Talk to Jesus
