Devotional Message:
(Isaiah 63:7)
"I will tell of the kindness of the LORD."

Observation:

This verse is part of a very emotional and reflective section in the book of Isaiah. The people of Israel were in a hard season. They had gone through rebellion, judgment, and suffering. But in the middle of all of this, Isaiah chooses to pause and speak about God’s goodness. That choice is powerful.

Isaiah says, “I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord.” He could have talked about the people’s failures. He could have talked about the nation’s pain. He could have complained about how far things had fallen. But instead, he chose to praise. He made a decision to remember what God had done—His compassion, His mercy, His protection, His blessings.

Isaiah looks back on the journey of Israel. He remembers how God saved them from Egypt, how He led them through the wilderness, gave them food, guided them with a cloud by day and fire by night, and never abandoned them. Even when the people were stubborn and ungrateful, God remained faithful. He didn’t stop loving them.

This is why Isaiah speaks with such passion. He says God deserves praise—not just for one good deed, but for the many good things He has done. And Isaiah doesn’t want to keep this to himself. He says, “I will tell…”—he wants to declare it publicly so others can hear, learn, and also remember how great God is.

Application:

Now let’s bring this to our lives today. We may not be walking through deserts or being led by pillars of fire, but we are still God’s people. And just like the Israelites, we often forget to remember. We focus so much on what we’re missing that we forget what we’ve already received.
