Devotional Message:
(Psalm 91:2)
"He is my refuge and my fortress, my GOD, in whom I trust."

Observation:

Imagine being caught in a terrible storm. The wind is howling, rain is pouring down, and you feel completely helpless. But then, you see a house up ahead with a bright light in the window. You run towards it, and as soon as you step inside, you feel safe, warm, and protected. The storm is still raging outside, but inside the house, you are at peace.

This is what God wants to be for us—our home, our safe place. Many times, we try to face life’s storms alone. We rely on our own strength, our own wisdom, and sometimes even other people, thinking they can provide the security we need. But eventually, we realize that no matter how strong we are, we still feel afraid, lost, and exhausted.

Psalm 91:2 reminds us that God is our refuge and fortress—a place where we can run to and be safe. A refuge is a shelter that protects us from harm, and a fortress is a strong, unshakable place that enemies cannot break into. This verse teaches us that God is not just a temporary hiding place; He is our permanent home, the one we can always trust no matter what happens.

Application:

Many people today are searching for peace, comfort, and security. Some look for it in success, money, relationships, or entertainment. But none of these things can give true and lasting security. They may bring temporary happiness, but when difficulties come, they cannot protect us.

So, what does it mean to "come home to God"?

1. Trust in Him completely. – Just as a child runs to their parents for protection, we need to run to God and trust that He will take care of us. When we feel afraid, lonely, or overwhelmed, we should remember that God is our fortress. We can pray and ask for His help, knowing He is always ready to listen.
