Devotional Message:
(Psalm 118:6)
"The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid."
Observation:
Life is full of struggles, and there are moments when we feel pressed on every side. We may experience financial difficulties, health problems, broken relationships, or emotional burdens that seem too heavy to bear. Sometimes, people may hurt us—through their words, actions, or even through betrayal. In these moments, fear and anxiety can easily creep into our hearts.
Psalm 118:6 was written during a time of great difficulty. The psalmist had enemies who wanted to destroy him, yet he found confidence in one truth: God was with him. He realized that no human, no problem, and no situation could be greater than God’s power. Because the Lord was on his side, he had no reason to be afraid.
Think about it—how often do we let fear control us? We worry about what others think, what might happen in the future, or how we will overcome our problems. But Psalm 118:6 reminds us that if God is with us, we don’t have to live in fear. Nothing and no one can truly harm us when we place our trust in Him.
Application:
How can we apply this truth in our daily lives?
1. Trust God, Even When You Feel Pressured
When you feel overwhelmed, remind yourself that God is bigger than your problems. Speak His promises over your life. Say, "The Lord is with me, I will not be afraid!" Repeat it until it becomes your reality. Fear loses its power when we stand on God’s truth.
2. Stop Fearing People’s Opinions
Many times, we worry too much about what others say about us. We try to please everyone and fear rejection. But the psalmist reminds us that "mere mortals" cannot truly harm us. Their words and actions may hurt, but they cannot separate us from God’s love and purpose for our lives.
3. Pray with Confidence
When you feel hard-pressed, instead of panicking, pray. Talk to God about your struggles. Ask Him
