Devotional Message:
(John 1:4)
"In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind."
Observation:
Have you ever walked into a dark room and struggled to find your way? You reach out, trying to feel where the table is or where the chair might be, but you keep bumping into things. You move slowly because you don’t want to get hurt. But the moment you switch on the light, everything becomes clear. You see the path, the furniture, and the obstacles. You feel safer and more confident.
Life is often like that dark room. We sometimes walk through difficult times—times of sadness, confusion, or fear. We struggle to know what to do. We try to find the right path, but we feel lost. We may even hurt ourselves or others along the way because we cannot see clearly.
But the Bible tells us that in Jesus, there is life, and His life is the light for all people. Jesus is like that bright light in a dark room. When we follow Him, He helps us see the right way to live. He shows us what is good and what is bad. He guides us when we feel lost. His light brings us hope when we feel sad. It gives us peace when we are afraid. His light reminds us that we are never alone.
Light also does something special—it reflects. When you place a mirror in front of a light, it reflects the brightness to other parts of the room. In the same way, when we follow Jesus and stay close to Him, His light shines on us. And when His light is on us, we can reflect it to others.
Application:
Think about the people around you—your family, friends, classmates, and neighbors. Some of them might be walking in darkness. They may feel sad, confused, or afraid. They may be struggling with problems they do not know how to solve. They need the light of Jesus, but maybe they do not know Him yet.
God wants us to reflect His light to those people. How can we do that?
