Devotional Message:
(John 4:10)
"You would have asked him and he would have given you living water."

Observation

Water is essential to life. We drink water when we are thirsty, use it to clean ourselves, and need it for plants and animals to survive. Without water, everything becomes dry and lifeless. Imagine a land with no rain for months—it turns into a desert, and nothing can grow. Just like our physical bodies need water, our souls also need something to keep them alive.

In John 4:10, Jesus was talking to a Samaritan woman at a well. She came to get water, just like she did every day. But Jesus told her about something greater than regular water—He spoke of living water. This water He was offering was not from the well but from God Himself. It was something that could satisfy her heart and soul forever.

The Samaritan woman had been searching for happiness in life. She had tried to fill the emptiness in her heart with relationships, but none of them truly satisfied her. Jesus knew her struggles, yet He didn’t condemn her. Instead, He offered her something that no one else could give—eternal life and a relationship with God.

Application

Many times, we are like the Samaritan woman. We look for things to satisfy us—money, success, friendships, entertainment—but after a while, we still feel empty. No matter how much we have, there is always a longing for something more. That’s because our souls were created for a deeper connection—with God.

Jesus offers us the living water today. He is the only one who can truly satisfy the thirst in our hearts. When we accept Him, we receive forgiveness, peace, and eternal life. He fills the empty places in our hearts with His love and grace.

How do we drink this living water?

1. Believe in Jesus. Accept Him as your Lord and Savior.

2. Spend time with Him. Read His Word, pray, and listen to His voice.

3. Trust Him in your daily life.
