Devotional Message:
(1 Thessalonians 5:11)
"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."

Observation

Encouragement is like water to a thirsty soul. Just as our bodies need water to stay strong and healthy, our hearts and minds need encouragement to keep going, especially in difficult times. In this verse, Paul reminds the believers in Thessalonica to encourage one another and build each other up. This was important because they faced persecution, hardships, and challenges in their faith.

Encouragement is not just about saying kind words—it’s about lifting someone’s spirit, reminding them of God’s promises, and helping them stand strong in their faith. Sometimes, a simple “You’re not alone” or “God is with you” can be the very thing that strengthens a weary heart.

Notice that Paul doesn’t just tell them to encourage one another; he also says they are already doing it. This shows that encouragement should be a constant part of Christian life. Just as a river flows continually, encouragement should keep flowing from us to others.

Encouragement builds people up. When someone is discouraged, they may feel like giving up. But when we encourage them, it’s like giving them a refreshing drink of water, giving them the strength to keep going. This is why God wants us to be people who uplift and inspire others.
