Devotional Message:
(Psalm 19:7)
"The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul."

Observation:

Have you ever asked yourself, “Why should I spend time reading the Bible? Why follow God’s commands when life seems to be going fine without them?” Many people think that the Bible is just an old book with outdated teachings. Others believe they can find wisdom elsewhere—in motivational speakers, social media, or even their own personal experiences. But Psalm 19:7 tells us why God’s Word is different from anything else in the world.

First, it says that the law of the Lord is perfect. Unlike human advice, which can be flawed or limited, God’s Word is complete. It lacks nothing and is relevant for every area of our lives. No matter how much the world changes, God’s truth remains the same. His commands are not just rules; they are life-giving instructions that help us live with purpose and peace.

Second, God’s Word refreshes the soul. There are many things in life that leave us feeling tired, empty, and discouraged. Stress, anxiety, failures, and disappointments can wear us down. But when we turn to Scripture, we find strength, comfort, and renewal. It reminds us of God’s faithfulness, His love, and His promises. Even when life is overwhelming, His Word gives us peace.

Finally, the verse says that God’s statutes make wise the simple. We all face situations where we don’t know what to do—decisions about relationships, career, finances, or personal struggles. The world offers many opinions, but not all of them lead to the right path. God’s Word, however, gives wisdom to those who seek it. Even if we feel unqualified or uncertain, His truth provides clarity and direction. The more we meditate on it, the more we grow in wisdom and understanding.

So, why do this? Why make reading the Bible a priority in our lives?
