(2 Chronicles 35:22)
"[Josiah] would not listen to what Necho had said at God's command."
Have you ever been so sure about a decision that you ignored all warnings, only to regret it later? Maybe you felt like you knew what was best, but in the end, things didn’t turn out the way you expected.
There’s a big difference between hearing and listening. Hearing is simply recognizing sound, but listening requires attention, understanding, and response. Many of us pray and ask God for direction, but when He answers, do we actually listen? Or do we ignore Him and go our own way?
In 2 Chronicles 35:22, we see a tragic example of what happens when someone refuses to listen to God. Even a good and godly man like King Josiah made the mistake of ignoring God’s warning, and it cost him his life. His story is a lesson for all of us: if we want to walk in God’s protection and blessing, we must listen to Him.
Observation: Josiah’s Costly Mistake
Josiah was one of the best kings in Judah’s history. He loved God, restored true worship, and led his people in righteousness. His heart was fully devoted to the Lord. But despite his great faith, he made a critical mistake—he stopped listening to God.
Josiah’s story teaches us a serious truth: even the most faithful believers can make unwise decisions when they ignore God’s voice.

2. Ignoring God Has Consequences
Josiah ignored God’s warning and suffered
