Devotional Message:
(Luke 22:32)
"When you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

Observation
This verse is part of a conversation Jesus had with Simon Peter during the Last Supper. Jesus had just told Peter that he would deny Him three times before the rooster crowed. But instead of condemning Peter, Jesus revealed something powerful—He had already prayed for him. Jesus knew Peter was about to fail, but He also knew that failure would not be the end of Peter’s story.

Notice the words Jesus used:

"I have prayed for you." Even before Peter’s failure, Jesus was interceding for him. This shows that Jesus is always ahead of us, watching over our journey and covering us in prayer.

"That your faith may not fail." Peter would fall, but his faith wouldn’t be destroyed. Jesus prayed that despite his mistake, Peter would not give up completely.

"And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers." Jesus didn’t say if Peter turned back, but when. Jesus had confidence that Peter would return, and when he did, he would have a purpose—to strengthen others.

This moment reminds us that Jesus understands our weaknesses. He doesn’t abandon us when we stumble. Instead, He prays for us, believing that we can rise again and continue the journey of faith.

Application

1. Jesus Knows Our Weaknesses, But He Still Loves Us
Sometimes we think our mistakes disqualify us from God’s love. But look at Peter—he denied Jesus, yet Jesus still prayed for him. This means no matter how far we fall, Jesus never gives up on us. If you feel unworthy because of your past, remember that Jesus already saw it, and He still chooses you.

2. Failure is Not Final
Peter’s greatest failure could have made him walk away from his faith, but Jesus knew he would come back. The same is true for us. Maybe we’ve failed in our faith, made wrong choices, or walked away from God. But just like Peter, we are never too
