“Does Your Quiver Make You Shiver?” (Psalm 127) Dr. Tim Carns January 28, 2023 Sunday Service
The title of this psalm tells us it was written by Solomon as a Song of Ascents. Pss 120-134 are known as the Songs of Ascents; and they formed a hymn book which the Jews sang as they made their way to the temple in Jerusalem during the three annual feasts (Unleavened Bread, Booths, Pentecost).

And right in the middle of them we find Pss 127-128—two poems which focus on the family, two songs that families would be singing together on their way up to Jerusalem. And the song of Psalm 127 gives us a valuable principle that serves as the foundation to any Christian home. And that principle is: to raise your home, rely on God; to raise your home you must rely on God.
Solomon shows this to us in two stanzas. The first is in vv. 1-2 and the second in vv. 3-5. To raise your home by relying on God, we must first remember that God is your provider in life and second that God is your provider of children.
