“God Is God, Live in the Light of The Eternal One” (Jeremiah 29:4-32) Pastor Jun Ang August 6, 2023 Sunday Service
Majority of the Jews were already in exile in Babylon and there were “so-called” or “self- proclaimed” prophets in their midst who “prophesied” that they will not remain in exile for long but will be returning soon (in 2 years time; 28:3). It would give them the benefit of the doubt that they meant well but the issue was not in their intention but God’s - it was different.

The problem was not their sincerity but their being wrong; they were sincerely wrong and as a result were deceiving the people; they were misleading God’s people. So the LORD sent His word though Jeremiah so that the people will be reminded of who their God is and thereby live in accordance to this Truth - if this was true of the Israelites who were in exile in Babylon, all the more true for us Christians - people of God who are exiles in this Earth.
