Happiness vs. Joy

In chasing happiness, I lost sight of joy. šŸ˜ž

Filmed this reel a month ago, and now, it feels as if I’m saying the exact message I need at the moment.

The happiness chase tired me out. I went after cheap thrills and vanity achievements over what my soul actually needed—stillness and contentment in the presence of God.

Instead of the Spirit reigning in me, pride and pleasure did.

I thought my tank was still full, but apparently, I ran low on joy so though I was putting my best effort, I crashed and burned.

Without God’s joy, even the things that excite me don’t make my heart skip a beat anymore. Everything felt senseless. I couldn’t function. I couldn’t create.

So of course, you know what I did.

I had to run back to the springs that don’t run dry. And I was refreshed and restored.

As an old worship song goes, ā€œThere’s no greater joy, Lord, than being with You.ā€ 🄹
