Today's Devotion:
365 Daily Devotions: Seminary Edition
💁🏻 Concept: Irresistible Grace
Irresistible grace refers to God’s sovereign work in salvation—when He calls someone effectively, He also regenerates their heart, making them truly willing and able to respond in faith. While the term may sound like God is forcing people to believe, it actually means He transforms the heart so that a person freely and joyfully chooses Christ. It’s not about coercion, but about God’s powerful and loving intervention that breaks down resistance and awakens dead hearts.
📖 Bible Readings: John 6:37, 44
(John 6:37, 44; Romans 8:30; Ezekiel 36:26-27; Acts 13:48, 16:14; Philippians 2:13; 2 Timothy 1:9; 1 John 4:19)
👨🏻💻 Teachings:
1. God’s grace in salvation is irresistible.
2. God’s grace is not force or coercion.
3. God’s grace leads to willing surrender.
💪🏼 Applications:
1. Love God because He first loved us.
2. Listen and obey with a willing heart.
3. Live by the grace of God.
🎙Discussion:
How does understanding irresistible grace deepen your gratitude for your salvation?
🙏🏼 Prayer:
Gracious Father, thank You for pursuing me even though I am a sinner. I once was blind, but now I see—only because You opened my eyes. Your grace is not a force that violates my will, but a power that lovingly transforms it. You made my heart alive to know, love, and follow Jesus. Remind me that salvation is entirely a work of Your mercy, not my merit. Teach me to walk in humility, knowing that grace not only saved me but continues to sustain me everyday. May others see that same grace at work in me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
