An arrogant job applicant in New York City experienced a humiliating situation. Manny was confident that he possessed the qualities required for the position. As he and his friend hurried to their scheduled interview, they bumped into an old lady and spilled her personal belongings on the ground. Manny stopped his friend from helping the lady pick up her things. On the train, Manny again prevented his friend from offering his seat to a standing elderly woman.

While on their way to the interview, Joe accidentally stepped on Manny's shoes. Manny became upset and demanded that Joe replace the expensive shoes.

During the interview, Manny was stunned to see that Joe, the person he had mistreated earlier, was the assistant manager. When asked by the manager, Jack, about Manny's qualifications, Manny turned to Joe and apologized for his rude behavior. Joe stressed that humility and good character are more important than just qualifications. Manny was thankful he still had a chance to change his wrongdoings.
