If you’re feeling alone in your internal panic, take comfort in the fact that you’re not. Far from it, actually: Some 40 million people around the world live with anxiety each year, according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of American, and it’s far more prevalent in women than men. When the world feels like it’s spinning out of control, reciting a prayer or contemplative mantra can remind you to come back to your center, let go of the worry that’s gripping you, and simply let life take over. These thoughtful prayers will offer just that, in the moments you need them most.
Pray that you would release your burdens and anxiety to God and embrace the peace He wants you to experience. “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” - Philippians 4:6-7
Thank God that even in your fear and/or anxiety, God is with you and there to comfort you. “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” - Psalm 23:4
Pray that you would not live in fear or anxiety but in your spiritual identity as a beloved child of God. “For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave to fear, but you received
