'Saan Darating Ang Umaga' 2005 version of Raymond Lauchengco [lyric video]
Lloyd De Leon
Composed by George Canseco, this song originally released in 1983 was the biggest hit of Raymond Lauchengco. Those who grew up listening to the original would say that it was masterfully sang by Raymond. But did you know that he had no idea what he was singing about when he recorded the song?
In his cd inlay he shared, he was given the study tape the day before he was to record it. To his complete shock, there were no lyrics in the tape-- no notes, no piano guide-- just Mr. Canseco whistling the melody.

When he arrived at the studio the next day, he caught Canseco still scribbling on the lyrics on the sheet of paper. He finished the song after 30 minutes and in about another hour, Raymond was done recording the song that became a classic masterpiece.
After 20 years, he decided to record the song again so he could give it a more heartfelt interpretation.
'Saan Darating Ang Umaga' was the theme song of the classic Filipino movie with the same title.
