As we now turn to God’s Word in Acts 17, we will see both the greatness and nearness of God. God is both great and near! He is not only in heaven ruling and reigning with absolute authority and control over all things, He is also intimately involved in humanity and in the course of history. We can have a personal relationship with Him!

Isn’t this awesome that we have a God who is both great and near to us? The greatness and nearness of God... that’s what we’re going to explore today. The greatness and nearness of God is basically what the transcendence and immanence of God is all about.
God is transcendent. What does that mean? God is great! God is high and lifted up! God is over and above all creation! God is rules and reigns as the Lord of the Universe with
absolute authority and control.
God is also immanent. What does that mean? God is near! God is active and present in our lives! God is involved! God can be known personally and intimately!
