TOPIC: DO YOU SEE THE VALUE OF REPENTANCE IN YOUR FAITH?

First Reading: Isaiah 7: 1-9
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 48: 2-3a, 3b-4, 5-6, 7-8
Alleluia: Psalms 95: 8
Gospel: Matthew 11: 20-24

The Gospel today narrates that “Jesus began to reproach the towns where most of his mighty deeds had been done, since they had not repented.” (Matthew 11:20). It is worthy to note that repentance is a necessary element for those who desire to experience God’s power.
We are reminded that it is not enough to say we trust God and we put our faith in Him. We need to decide to commit to repent for our shortcomings. We need to acknowledge that we have sinned against people and the Lord.

Christian repentance means having Christ as the focal point of our faith. Our faith and repentance allow us to renew our lives in times when we stumble, when we fail to live according to God’s will. When we change our mindset and ways according to His ways, it is because we believe that indeed, He is the way, the truth, and the life.

This is the 1541st installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Lawrence Quintero, a member of the CFC International Council, as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
