Today's Devotion:
365 Daily Devotions: Seminary Edition
💁🏻 Concept: Power of the Church
The power of the church refers to the God-given authority entrusted to the body of Christ to fulfill its spiritual mission on earth. This includes proclaiming the gospel with boldness, engaging in spiritual warfare through prayer and truth, and exercising loving church discipline for the purity of the church. This power is not worldly, political, or manipulative—it flows from Christ, the Head of the Church, who governs His people by His Word and Spirit. The church is not weak or passive—it is God’s ordained instrument for declaring the kingdom, confronting sin, and advancing light in darkness.
📖 Bible Readings: Matthew 16:18-19

Heavenly Father, thank You for ordaining the church to fill the whole world with Your glory. Thank You for Jesus, the founder and head of the church, and for the Holy Spirit who empowers us to fulfill Your mission. Lead me to serve faithfully in a local church that lives out the greatest commandments: Loving God, loving people, and make disciples. May we shine as salt and light, influencing the world for Christ. Empower us daily, and keep us steadfast until Jesus returns. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray, amen.
