Today's Devotion:
365 Daily Devotions: Seminary Edition
💁🏻 Concept: Principalities and Power
“Principalities and powers” refer to ranks of demonic forces operating in spiritual realms, as seen in passages like Ephesians 6:12 and Colossians 2:15. These terms describe the organized hierarchy of evil opposing God’s kingdom. These forces are understood not as equals to God but as created beings under His sovereign rule—even in their rebellion. Christ’s victory at the cross disarmed these powers, and through union with Christ, believers share in His triumph. While they still wage war against the saints, their defeat is certain, and the believer stands firm by grace through faith, clothed in the armor of God.
📖 Bible Readings: Ephesians 6:12
(Matthew 12:28-30; Colossians 2:15; Romans 8:38–39; Daniel 10:13; Luke 10:17–20; Ephesians 6:10-20)
👨🏻💻 Teachings:
1. Jesus wages war against the demonic forces.
2. Demonic forces will not give up without a fight.
3. God provides armor for offense and defense.
💪🏼 Applications:

🙏🏼 Prayer:
Almighty God, thank You that though we wrestle not against flesh and blood, we are not without defense. You have given us armor, authority, and assurance through Christ. Help me to walk in the confidence of Your victory, and to stand firm when spiritual battles come. Strengthen my discernment, sharpen my faith, and keep me grounded in truth. May I never forget that Christ has triumphed over every power and principality. In Jesus’ victorious name, amen.
