Today's Devotion:
365 Daily Devotions: Seminary Edition
💁🏻 Concept: Random Mutation
Random mutation teaches that changes in life come from accidental DNA errors during reproduction, which supposedly drive evolution. This view says life arose by chance, without purpose. Christianity, however, declares that God is the Creator and Sustainer of all life. While Christians may differ on how creation happened, what is certain is that life is not random but the result of God’s purposeful will. Nothing in creation is by accident—God is present in every cell, every breath, and every living being.
📖 Bible Readings: Psalm 139:13-16
(Genesis 1:1; John 1:3; Acts 17:24–26; Colossians 1:16–17)
👨🏻💻 Teachings:
1. You are not an accident.
2. You are wonderfully made by God.
3. You are designed for God’s glory.
💪🏼 Applications:
1. Embrace your unique traits and personality.
2. Value yourself just as God values you.
3. Fulfill your divine purpose as God’s masterpiece.
🎙Discussion:
Why do you have to value yourself just as how God sees you?
Alternative questions:
1. What have you learned from this devotion?
2. How can you practically apply our devotion?
🙏🏼 Prayer:
Creator God, thank You that I am fearfully and wonderfully made—not by chance, but by Your loving hands. Your design is written into every part of creation, from the stars in the sky to the cells in my body. Help me to stand firm against the belief that life is random or meaningless. Teach me to live with purpose, knowing You formed me with intention and care. May my heart rejoice in Your wisdom and my life reflect Your glory. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
