The Church of Jesus Christ in the Philippines
Sometimes life seems unfair.
Nobody knows this more than the young people we met at the Manila Boys Town and Girls Town for children and teens who have no other place to call home.
But these children have chosen to dream rather than to despair. They have chosen to love rather than to languish. They have chosen faith rather than fear.
I was humbled to represent The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as we joined with local Latter-day Saint youth to make a donation of supplies and offer a hand of friendship to these children and teens.
Although we can’t change the difficult and painful circumstances of the lives of these young people, we can choose to follow the One who can—our Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus cannot change the past, but He can heal the past.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”(Matthew 11:28).
