Frontline Heroes: Empowering Community Health Workers in Talim Island

What could be the best title for a video with caption like this: In remote communities like Talim Island, where medical facilities are scarce, Barangay (Community) Health Workers (BHWs) are the frontline of healthcare. Noralyn, a BHW for over a decade, has faced challenges like limited training, lack of medicines, and inadequate equipment to care for patients with non-communicable diseases (#NCDs).

Through the NCD LOVE project, BHWs in a number of barangays in the island received not only essential tools—BP monitors, glucometers, and weighing scales—but also training in patient management, effective communication, and NCD prevention and care. With these skills, they can better serve their communities and save lives.
