Is Christmas Pagan?
Yes, Christmas has pagan origins. Long before Christ’s birth, ancient cultures celebrated winter solstice festivals like Saturnalia in Rome, Yule in Scandinavia, and the worship of Mithra, the sun god, on December 25. These celebrations involved feasting, gift-giving, and decorations, customs later absorbed into what we now call Christmas.
When Christianity spread, church leaders adopted these pagan traditions to make the faith more appealing. However, the Bible warns us against mixing God’s worship with pagan practices. In Deuteronomy 12:30-31, God says:

Even if modern Christians celebrate Christmas for its Christ-focused meaning, its roots remain the same. Instead, God has given us holy days outlined in Leviticus 23, like Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles, which truly honor Him.
