Is eating fat sin? #biblestudy
Joshua Infantado
Did God really forbid eating fat? The answer might surprise you.
In Leviticus, God clearly commands His people not to eat fat from sacrifices—but that doesn’t mean all fat is bad. The Hebrew word used refers to a specific kind of fat—the hard, greasy fat around organs like the kidneys and liver, which stores toxins. That’s the fat God said to avoid.

But the Bible also celebrates fat in many forms. It speaks of a land “flowing with milk and honey,” and praises foods like butter, cheese, and even the “fat of the land.”
What’s the real danger today? It’s not biblical fats—it’s man-made fats like margarine and hydrogenated oils, which are proven to harm your health.
God’s dietary laws were never random. They reflect divine wisdom meant to protect and bless you.
So yes, you can eat fat—just the right kind. Trust God’s design. He knows best!
