Today's Devotion:

365 Daily Devotions: Seminary Edition

💁🏻 Concept: Plenary Inspiration
Plenary inspiration is the belief that all the words of Scripture—every part, every line, every phrase—are fully inspired by God. The word plenary means “complete” or “full.” This means that the whole Bible, not just its moral teachings or spiritual ideas, is God-breathed. Every word in the original manuscripts was superintended by the Holy Spirit, using human authors without error. This doctrine assures us that the Bible is trustworthy in all it teaches—about God, salvation, history, and life. Scripture isn’t just inspired in spots—it’s entirely the voice of God.

📖 Bible Readings: 2 Timothy 3:16-17
(2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:160; Matthew 5:18; John 17:17; Proverbs 30:5-6; Hebrews 1:1-2, 4:12)

👨🏻‍💻 Teachings:
1. All of Scripture is equally and entirely inspired.
2. The Bible’s authority rests on its divine origin.
3. God used human authors, without error, to communicate His exact will.

💪🏼 Applications:
1. Submit your morality to God’s standard.
2. Confront all lies with God’s unchanging truth.
3. Pursue a godly life under God’s favor and blessing.

🎙Discussion:
How does believing that the Bible comes from God shape the way we live?

Alternative questions:
1. What have you learned from this devotion?
2. How can you practically apply our devotion?

🙏🏼 Prayer:
God of truth, thank You for giving us Your Word—fully inspired, completely true, and richly sufficient. I praise You that every word in Scripture is breathed out by You. Teach me to read it not as man’s ideas, but as Your voice to my heart. Let me trust every promise, obey every command, and rest in every truth. Shape my life with Your Word. Guard me from picking and choosing what I want to believe, and give me the courage to stand on all of Your Word. Shape me by Scripture from the inside out. Let me fight temptations with Your Truth. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
