"SUPERSTAR" JAMMING with the LAUS Malaysia's Dennis Lau and Philippines' Reuben Laurente.

During one of our days off on board Holland America's Noordam in November of 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to jam with one of Malaysia's violin virtuosos, Dennis Lau, who was a fellow guest entertainer. But he jammed and played the piano instead of the violin, as he first learned the piano as a child prodigy; and even being trained by his mom "blindfolded" at one point to enhance his skills. His talent is truly remarkable!
We decided to jam together to the classic song "SUPERSTAR," originally written by Bonnie Bramlett, Delaney Bramlett, and Leon Russell in 1969. This timeless piece was popularized by The Carpenters in 1971 and later by my music icon, Luther Vandross, in 1983.

Reflecting on this experience, it brought back memories of performing Luther's version with The CompanY, the Philippines' premier vocal group, during our Valentine's show at the Mandarin Oriental ballroom titled "The CompanY sings The CarpenterS" in the late '90s.

Thank you for the opportunity to jam with you, Dennis brother. What an amazing way to connect through music and create a bond among artists around the world. I give GOD all the glory!
